Why, hello! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Andrea. I’m a wife and stay-at-home-mommy to four kids (five if you count my dog!), ages 14, 11, 9, and 1 year (the dog is 4). I love coffee, running, knitting, giggling, and Jesus, and not necessarily in that order.
A few years ago, my husband and I found ourselves unexpectedly expecting baby number four. You will forgive us if after seven years, three kids, and one dog we thought we were finished with babies and diapers and late night feedings. But God had other plans for our little family and so entered the littlest mister.
Previously to that, I had been teaching preschool, my dream since high school. I love working with kids, and three and four year olds are my particular passion. There’s just something about pouring into little ones that makes me smile every day! With the arrival of our baby, though, we decided it was time for me to return to being a stay-at-home-mommy. I’ll admit – the transition has not been easy. While I love being home and watching our little man grow and discover, I’ve missed preschool and have found myself too often dreaming of what could have been instead of embracing the now.
I started this blog late in 2013 as a way of dealing with the ideas swirling around my head geared towards preschoolers. As our baby enters toddler-hood, I get excited to offer him plenty of learning invitations to discover the world around him. So from time to time I will be sharing some of the things we do, because, well, it’s fun!
But I realize that that’s not all there is to this season I am in. I have the privilege of also raising two preteens and a teenager alongside our toddler, while making our home a safe haven and a place our kids want to come back to. Not to mention nurturing a wonderful 15 year marriage, along with my own faith-walk with Jesus.
And people think stay-at-home-moms aren’t busy!
So I’m hoping to turn this blog into a chronicle of my family’s journey of embracing the every day. Of finding joy in the little moments. I suspect it’s going to be a hodgepodge of stuff, but if you know me from my pre-preschool days blog, Under Grace and Over Coffee, that’s kind of what I do best. I’m all about the random.
And coffee. I happen to like it a lot.
Thanks for joining me on this journey – I really look forward to getting to know you!
